Abstract

This study aims to explain the role of the shepherd in Psalm 23 and its relevance to the ministry of the contemporary virtual church. The main focus is on how David’s shepherding principles can be applied in the digital context, where the church has shifted from physical gatherings to online worship. The research employs a qualitative method with a literature study and biblical exegesis approach of Psalm 23 and related New Testament texts. The findings show that Psalm 23 presents a holistic model of shepherding that includes knowing, listening, protecting, and guiding the flock. In the digital era, the shepherd’s role expands to include being a mentor, motivator, and guardian of faith through online engagement. The conclusion emphasizes that the image of God as the Good Shepherd in Psalm 23 provides a theological foundation for the modern church to build relational, contextual, and spiritually nurturing digital ministry.
